Basic Rules for Venatio Energy Dueling

Provided by the International Venatio Dueling Commission (IVD), 2055.

Venatio Energy Dueling is fought between two or more participants with another as a moderator. Each participant shall have a weapon and a shield, all powered by a single source. The weaponry is open to the creative invention of the participants, and the source may be any form of energy capable of creating a field strong enough to power remote weaponry and shielding. Although many sources of energy have been attempted in energy dueling, the most common has been an omni- electric source typically over a hundred times the civilian field strength. A Venatio match is won when an opposing participant is no longer able to maintain a standing position as determined by the moderator.

The moderator is to control the power source and to ensure the three basic rules below are followed:

1) All participants must agree to and use one source of power, which will be controlled by one moderator.

2) All participants must at all times be covered by appropriate and effective shielding powered by the one source.

3) Employed weaponry must be powered only by the one source. No weaponry of any other source may be utilized.
