In marked contrast to his best friend Joram, Nick was large and muscular, to the point of being almost overweight. Nick's father died when he was very young, and so he was raised by his mother, who never remarried. He dealt with this deficiency by surrounding himself with a large number of friends, most of whom he met in all his athletic activities. Nick also hailed from the small northern Wisconsin town of Antigo, having been the captain of both the football and wrestling teams of the school, although with barely enough players to actually have a team. He was so committed to sports that he even played baseball in the summer and tennis at the same time as football, but did not continue with any sports at Atraville College. Constantly frustrated by his grades in school, he studied hard, really hard, but still had trouble making his grades. His large size was an asset in many tough situations, but what help will it be against dark energy?
Name etymology: Soek is from an African language meaning 'to seek', signifying Nick's search for the truth between the theories of Dr. Veritas and Dr. Reproba and the Gero and the sanctus energies. He was never good at scholarship, but his life depends upon him finding the right answer.
