Cecil grew up on the poor side of Chicago where his father was thrown into prison when he was only four. Subsequently raised by his mother, who had a difficult time holding a steady job, he spent most of his time running the streets. He was, however, brilliant. In his early teens he became interested in energy physics, especially in regards to fashioning weapons. Gradually gaining a following, he learned to make weapons that would use the omni-electric fields more effectively than guns and bullets. Luckily, his interests took a very different turn under Senator Douglas' Street Prodigy program in which the education of potential criminals was funded by the state in an attempt to give them a different life. Atraville College was the chosen place where he might put his knowledge of energy physics to better use than fighting on the streets of Chicago. But how effective will his street smarts be against dark energy?
Name etymology: Metus is Latin for ‘fear’. From his earliest days, Cecil learned the hard way that there was much to fear from this world, and so he developed certain ways of coping with life on the streets. He learned how to fight and win, he learned how to gain a following of admirers, and he learned how to stuff his feelings so far down that he would never feel anything again.
